Our 2×4 FlamePro Fire-Retardant Yellow Pine lumber is sold by the piece and comes in 8′, 10′, 12′ and 16′ lengths. Boards are S4S where both sides and edges are planed smooth. Actual board dimension is 1-1/2″ thick by 3-1/2″ wide.
FlamePro lumber is chemically pressure-treated to reduce the spread of flames and generation of smoke. In the event of a fire, this lumber will not spread fire and develops less smoke. FlamePro lumber may be substituted for materials classified as non-combustible in certain building types designed by the model building codes. FlamePro offers a 50-year limited warranty against structural failure due to heat or humidity.
FlamePro fire retardant lumber is UL® Classified with FR-S Rating, Class A, “Class 1” classification for surface burning characteristics. This lumber has been given the UL GREENGUARD GOLD Assurance, Low VOC.
This lumber can be painted or stained just as untreated wood, but flammability of the finish should be considered. FlamePro lumber is in intended for interior use only and should be protected against direct moisture, precipitation or regular condensation. FlamePro lumber is low-corrosivity and low-hygroscopicity. FlamePro lumber has low VOC’s or Formaldehyde. Galvanized steel hardware is recommended, although the treatment does not increase the corrosion of bare steel. Cross-cutting lumber, drilling holes and light sanding is permissible. It is not necessary to field-treat cut ends to maintain the flames spread rating.
