Installation — quick guide

  1. Plan & measure: measure the internal dimensions of the drawer or space and decide plank orientation (lengthwise, crosswise, or staggered).
  2. Dry fit: lay planks in place without glue or fasteners to check fit; mark any planks that need trimming.
  3. Cut to size: trim planks with a fine-tooth saw (miter box, circular saw with fine blade, or jigsaw). Sand cut edges smooth.
  4. Fit tongue-and-groove: assemble planks by engaging the tongue into the groove. For a drawer or box bottom, lay planks flat and join edges tightly.
  5. Secure (optional): for permanent installs, apply a thin bead of wood glue along grooves or use small finishing nails/brads into the outer edges (avoid nailing through visible faces). For removable linings, simply lay in place or use double-sided carpet tape or removable adhesive dots.
  6. Trim & finish: if needed, trim excess with a utility knife or sandpaper and wipe surfaces clean with a damp cloth. Allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer instructions.
  7. Refreshing: when scent fades, lightly sand the surface and wipe with a damp cloth to restore aroma.

Installation tips

  • Allow planks to acclimate to the room for 24 hours before cutting or installing.
  • Leave a small expansion gap (1/16″–1/8″) at edges for humidity changes if installing in larger areas.
  • Avoid prolonged direct contact with wet items; cedar can stain.
  • For garment bags or fabric applications, attach planks using small fabric‑safe ties, Velcro strips, or place planks in pockets rather than stapling directly to fabric.
