Please Note:
- It is recommended to top-coat primed columns with an Exterior grade paint at jobsite. Raw columns should be sealed or primed and painted with exterior grade products at jobsite.
- Hollow Cedar Columns are made 1″ shorter to accommodate a 1″ stand-off post base beneath each column (sold separately). This creates a physical gap between the wood and the mounting surface so moisture cannot wick up into the column from the base. By keeping the cedar elevated and dry at the critical bottom edge, the stand-off reduces rot and decay, improves drainage and airflow, and significantly extends the service life of the column while preserving its appearance and structural integrity.
