Our German Lap Siding is made with a yellow pine graded D&Better. There may be occasional knots, but relatively clear.
Yellow Pine is a durable wood that is often used outside but must be primed and painted to hold up to the exterior elements. Our German Lap Siding is not pressure-treated. It is recommended to prime all sides before installation with an exterior-grade primer. Then caulk and paint the product after installation with an exterior-grade product.
This lap siding has a cove on the bottom edge and a smooth surface on the face. German lap siding is non-beveled and not lapped in installation. This style of lap siding is edge-matched with a shiplap or, less often, tongue-and-groove so that it lays flat on wall framing. No sheathing is required with this style of lap siding.

- 1X6 (actual 3/4” thick by 5-3/8” wide) with a 3/8” rabbet on back side.
- 1X8 (actual 3/4” thick by 7-1/16” wide) with a 3/8” rabbet on back side.
