Treated Yellow Pine is known for being an economical choice that holds up very well to the exterior elements. Yellow pine treated boards are ideal for exterior projects like playground equipment, decking, fencing, exterior furniture and rose arbors to name just a few. Our treated decking and dimensional boards and come from Culpeper Wood Preservers and treated to a ground contact treatment level. This means ALL treated decking and boards have a treatment that will protect from rot and decay in wetter ground-contact conditions .
The 6×6 and 8×8 timbers are treated with the older CCA treatment (Chromate Copper Arsenate) at a .80 retention level to withstand below-ground contact while structurally supporting decks and other weight bearing projects.
The decking boards, lumber boards and 4×4 timbers are treated with MCA (micronized copper azole) at ground contact retention levels. This treatment provides a corrosion protection for exterior fasteners and better paint and stainability.
