ExteriorFireX Fire-Retardant CDX Plywood is available in 3/4″ thickness. Pressure im-pregnanted fire retardant plywood that is kiln dried will hold up to areas directly exposed to the weather or high humidity. ExteriorFireX is made by Hoover and meets the flame spread requirement of all building codes. ExteriorFireX has a flame spread test of 30 minute ASM E-84 (UL723).
Plywood will be either pine or fir. Graded CD, a sheathing grade, not an appearance grade plywood, that allows for knots and blemishes on both faces. The treatment on this plywood allows it to be used in interior or exterior application and can be painted or stained. Plywood is non-corrosive, has no halogens or sulfates and reduce insurance rates.
Additional Information
This plywood is ideal to be used exterior on projects like fascia, roof sheathing, siding, stairways and balconies. ExteriorFireX is used by many government agencies in nuclear construction and ship building. ExteriorFireX plywood can be primed and painted or stained just like untreated plywood. Plywood is NOT treated for rot and decay. Water repellent preservative finishes are recommended in exterior applications when in direct contact to weather elements.
