Stocked in surfaced s4s and construction grade.  Choose from 4x10 or 4x12 size in 6', 8' or 12' length.  Rough is available upon request.

Online lengths from 4' to 8' only due to shippnig restrictions.  The 12' lengths are available in store only. 


 

Aromatic Cedar

Aromatic cedar, also known as Eastern Red Cedar, is grown in the eastern North American continent.  This cedar is known for its distinct smell.

Additional Information

 We try to bring in FAS (First and Second) grade when available.  This hardwood is sold S2S, surfaced on both faces and left rough on the edges, and sold by the board foot.  The widths and lengths can vary by board.  

Our rule of thumb when selling our hardwoods is that we will cross-cut a board and sell only what the customer needs, provided we can return 6’ of the board back to stock.  All hardwoods can be dressed down to your project specifications in our woodshop for an additional fee.

S2S

Our 4/4 board is dressed 13/16” to 7/8” thick and sold by the board foot.

Our 8/4 board is dressed 1-1/2" to 1-3/4” thick and sold by the board foot.

We also have 12/4 - 16/4 thick boards sold by the board foot.

Spanish Cedar

 Spanish Cedar, also known as West Indian Cedar, is grown in Florida; West Indies and South America. Spanish Cedar is known for its aromatic fragrance rather than its plain color.  It is a soft wood that is naturally inset repellant and often used for humidors and cloths storage.  It is also used for furniture and cabinet making.

WR Cedar, Appearance Grade, Rough Timbers

Western Red Cedar is a softwood known for its stability, straight grain and durability in exterior climates. This lumber is naturally resistant to rot and decay without any treatment. Western Red Cedar is normally reddish-brown in color. This wood ages to a natural silver-gray color when left unfinished outdoors. Western Red Cedar is very popular to use in exterior projects like decks, garden beds, arbors, fences, shingles, and siding to name just a few. This wood is sometimes favored over treated yellow pine for exterior projects due to it being lighter and more stable.

Additional Information

These timbers are often used for exterior posts. Timbers are green, meaning they have not been air or kiln-dried prior to coming on the yard. Timbers are left rough and are appearance grade, allowing for knots and cracks. This stock is sold by the linear foot. Timbers can be cross-cut to your specific lengths and we will sell only what the customer needs, provided we can return an 8’ length back to stock.

Timbers are left rough and are #2 grade, allowing for knots. This stock is sold by the linear foot. Boards can be cross-cut to your specific lengths and we will sell only what the customer needs, provided we can return an 8’ length back to stock.

This style Cedar board is often used for exterior handrails and fencing, among other exterior projects. Dimensional 2” boards and 4”x4” posts are kiln-dried. The 6” timbers are air-dried. This Cedar is an STK grade (Select Tight knot) allowing for tight knots. This material is S4S, meaning it has been surfaced on both faces and both edges. This material is sold by the board only.

Western Red Cedar is very popular to use in exterior projects like decks, garden beds, arbors, fences, shingles, and siding to name just a few.

Additional Information

This style Cedar board is often used for siding and fencing, among other exterior projects. Boards are kiln-dried and an STK grade (Select Tight knot) allowing for tight knots and graded on the rough side. This material is S1S2E meaning one side is left rough, and the other side and edges are planed smooth. The rough side is often preferred as being exposed, but either sides can be visible. This material is sold by the board only.
